Getting started البداية
Open tools.jannatak.com/habits (or tap 🌱 أدومها وإن قلّ on the Jannatak hub or in any tool's menu). It works straight away, with no account. The first time, a short wizard sets up your journey:
Two tracks مساران مستقلان
At any time you have one habit you are leaving and one good habit you are building. Each has its own list, its own day count and its own graduation test, so they move on independently.
- Freed from the habit you're leaving first? The next one on your «to leave» list opens; your good habit continues. If your current good habit doesn't suit the new one, the app suggests the best match and offers to put it next in your good list.
- Good habit became automatic first? The next good habit opens; suggestions that fit the habit you are still leaving come first.
- You can reorder both lists any time in Plan → قائمة الانتظار, and add more from the library.
Why one at a time? Willpower is limited, and changing everything at once usually ends in changing nothing. The Prophet's ﷺ deeds were «دِيمة»: steady and lasting, each one a base for the next.
The Today page اليوم
| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Check-in | For the good habit: Did it fully, The minimum (still keeps the chain) or Missed. For the habit you're leaving: I held back or I slipped. |
| Forgot yesterday? | The next day you're asked about yesterday. Days left unlogged count as missed (and as not held back). |
| Never miss twice | After a missed day, the app asks only for the minimum today. |
| After a slip | Repent and follow it with a small good deed: ﴿وأتبع السيئة الحسنة تمحها﴾. Slips stay private. |
| Habit ladder | Every good habit starts at its smallest version. After 14 steady days you can move up one level. |
| Evening review | One minute: what helped, what got in the way, one tweak for tomorrow. |
Graduating متى تنتقل؟
| Good habit ("graduated") | Habit you're leaving ("freed") | |
|---|---|---|
| Time | At least 28 days | At least 28 days |
| Consistency | Kept (fully or the minimum) on 90%+ of the last 4 weeks | Held back on 90%+ of days, and two weeks with no slip |
| Weekly check | 4 statements: it feels automatic, 4 of 5 or more | 3 statements: it no longer pulls at you, 4 of 5 or more |
Research found habits took between 18 and 254 days to become automatic (median about 66), so the app measures how automatic it feels, not just the days.
Graduated habits stay in your Journey with a light weekly tick ("still keeping it" / "still free of it") so they don't fade.
Adhkar inside the app الأذكار
12 collections open right in the app, with a tap counter for each dhikr and its source and grading underneath: أذكار الصباح، أذكار المساء، ذكر الاستيقاظ، عند الأذان، الصلاة على النبي ﷺ، الاستغفار، سورة الملك، سيد الاستغفار، أذكار النوم، الأذكار بعد الصلاة، كفارة المجلس، عند الغضب.
Find them on the Today page and in the library. If a collection belongs to your current habit, finishing it can log today's habit for you. Qur'an texts are the Uthmani script from the Qur'an encyclopedia (quranenc.com).
The library المكتبة
41 good habits and 34 habits to leave, each with its evidence from the Qur'an or Sunnah, its smallest version and a three-step ladder. Under each habit to leave you'll see the good habits that suit it.
- Add your own on either side with + عادة حسنة أبنيها or + عادة أتركها. They appear under «عاداتي».
- Private habits (in the «الخلوة» group) show by name only in the library and the picking screen. Everywhere else they appear as «عادة خاصة بينك وبين الله 🔒».
- Adding a habit when that side has nothing current starts it today; otherwise it joins the end of its list.
Prayer-time reminders التذكير بالموعد
There's also an optional browser alert, which works only while the app is open.
Privacy, sync and backups سرّك بينك وبين الله
By default everything stays on your device only, with no account. «من ابتُلي بشيء من هذه القاذورات فليستتر».
Encrypted sync across devices (optional)
- Journey → Turn on sync, then sign in with your Jannatak account.
- Your journey is encrypted on your device with your Jannatak passphrase before upload. The server stores only scrambled data. No one else can read it, not even Jannatak.
- It is one passphrase for your private tools: whichever you set up first, habits or finance, the other uses the same one.
- Save your recovery key. If you lose both the passphrase and the recovery key, the synced data can't be recovered.
- Remember on this device also unlocks your finance page on that device, so leave it off on shared computers.
Backup file
Journey → Download backup saves a file you can restore on any device with Restore a backup.
FAQ أسئلة شائعة
I changed my phone. Is my journey lost?
Not if you turned on sync (sign in on the new phone and enter your passphrase) or saved a backup file. Without either, the data stayed on the old device.
I forgot my passphrase.
In the unlock window tap Forgot it?, enter your recovery key and choose a new passphrase. It changes for the finance page too.
I'm travelling. Will the reminder follow the local prayer times?
Each device keeps its own location. Tap Update next to the location in Plan, then renew the calendar reminders.
I only want to build Sunnahs, not leave anything.
Skip the first list in the wizard. You'll work through your good habits one at a time.
Can anyone else see my habits?
No. There are no leaderboards or shared views in this tool. With sync on, even the server only holds encrypted data.
Are the hadith and their gradings checked?
Each one shows its source and grading. The texts are under scholarly review, as noted at the bottom of the app.
